SOUTHERN SHADE SAILS are designed to block out the heat and harmful UV rays of the sun and are made from the highest commercial strength fabrics offering a 10 year UV protection warranty. Our sails have PVC reinforced corners and are double stitched and hemmed with marine grade stainless steel rope and fittings. All supporting posts are galvanized steel and can be powder coated to any desired colour. We also provide a wide range of roof and rafter fixings that can be mounted to both tiled and tin roofs affording a solution to any design task.
In all our shade designs we try to incorporate some form of twist or peak by off setting fixing point heights for three reasons, it provides:

better structural integrity for the sail which helps it maintain shape in high winds

run-off so the rain does not pool in the centre of the sail causing it to ‘belly’, which stretches the fabric and reduces the life span.

an elegant and organic 3-dimensional shape suspended in the air as opposed to a more conventional flat or gabled covering.
